Unfortunately, I have to take off two stars given previously.. I am coming to this gym 6 days a week and more and more facing very inconvenient ( for me) situations involving the kids.. David Lloyd is family oriented gym and I appreciate it but the parents should learn on how to share the space with other people without being a bothersome. Yesterday AGAIN , upstairs ,there was a man with 4( !!!!) boys different ages running around and playing on several gym devices ( some were acting very dangerous).. nobody from staff said a word … Today in the changing room , a child was screaming like a hell and this happened almost every day… Parents are not taking a responsibility for their kids behaving .. Another example is when fathers are taking their 5-7 y.o daughters to the changing facility where most of us are walking nude , put their girls on the bench in the millet and undress them .. we have several dressing rooms available so why not use it ?! I am not a child free person but my time at the gym is the only time I can relax and I don’t want to feel like I am in kindergarten..This gym is nearby to my house but I will not extend my membership and will look for a more adult oriented Gym in the area…
Fantastic gym and spa and staff are so friendly. Really good value for money. Can't wait for reburishment it will be awesome. My wife and I have been too several gyms in Amsterdam and this is the best in town. Highly recommend 5 Stars
Barred from the gym for a week for having cancelled twice this week: first time through calling the reception and explaining that i had a very bad migraine, second time two days later for the same reason i cancelled just before the class on the app this time and will be charged as not within cancelling deadline. Fair enough but as if this was not enough, I now i get a message saying i am barred from the gym for a week because i cancelled three times (duh?). I called reception which explained to me that ‘it is the system’ - a system to which reception has no access so in fact they do not know what they are talking about…. I’m now waiting for the manager to call me. Makes me feel a little bit like primary school!!
Don't bother sending emails or asking questions in person, you will never get a constructive and problem-solving reply. Best to avoid and spend such ridiculously high membership fees somewhere else, where "customer service" is actually in the dictionary of the gym.
EDIT AFTER REPLY DAVID LLOYD: Also don't be misled by their semi-automated replies on review platforms like Google Maps. Following these instructions won't get you anywhere. The task of the single person in charge of PR seems to be to create a perfect image to outsiders. Once you're a member, you won't get any replies other than the automated one below. AVOID!

I tried the 14 day membership as it’s close to my home. However I decided to stick with my regular club much further away due to a number of reasons. Impersonal and inconsistent service, literally sales sharks in operation here. The locker system and rules is ridiculous. Pool and ‘spa’ area with rust and not clean. Didn’t like the feeling of the studio, low ceiling and dark oppressive feeling. Also I do not understand what this hideous monstrosity is STILL doing at the front of the building. The building is already unattractive, but this pictured eye sore has been present for maybe more than a year now with no sign of anything being changed. Can someone please let me know when this awful structure will be gone? I speak for others in the neighbourhood who are also share the views.
Hanging out with Maddy (the barista and my favourite trainer) is a treat itself.

I feel so sorry for the personal training team, they are absolutely amazing and my rating has nothing to do with them. I am strictly referring to the customer service and conditions on the site which are very bad. The hand dryer in the men's locker room hasn't worked for a year, when it rains there are buckets everywhere because it's raining inside, sometimes the treadmills go out and if you ask someone to come and see what's going on they ignore you, 10 year old girl in the men's changing room changing with a big man and so on. When I notice changes in the problems I listed above, I promise you that I will be the first to give you the highest rating.
